Performance Media Operations Specialist

Position: Performance Media Operations Specialist
Location: Phoenix, Arizona (On-site 16th Street & Northern)
Status: Exempt
Compensation: Competitive salary DOE, Health, Dental, Vision Insurance, 3 weeks PTO, 10 paid holidays, mobile phone allowance and matching 401-K (after 1st year of employment), Flexible WFH schedule with WFH Fridays. Partial paid maternity/paternity leave.
Education: BS in Marketing, Advertising, or related field, OR two (2) years of experience in agency digital media tracking and reporting required.

PRIMARY ROLE:

As a key player on the Performance Media team, the Operations Specialist is someone that knows their way around data and reporting tools. This role is for someone that has extreme attention to detail and can work through reporting and confirmation on activities from the media team. The Operations Specialist will understand and review media plans, client budgets, spend tracking and work to ensure that all systems and data align. Should have a deep understanding of the digital marketing landscape and the various platforms commonly used within agencies providing marketing services.

You will work with other Defero teams to review documented plans to understand what actually happened against the original plans. You will work closely with Defero’s accounting team to confirm the accuracy of fees and appropriate billing to align with client contracts.

In this position, you should have a clear understanding of how digital media is deployed and be able to go into platforms like Google Ads, Meta, and others, to report on spends across both big picture and within campaigns. You will need to be comfortable communicating with internal teams on findings of any discrepancy between reported activity and original plans.

Our paid digital media campaigns range from paid search, paid social, programmatic, to video placements and range from small to large advertising budgets. We also manage organic search and SEO strategies for our clients, as applicable. You’ll be charged with being able to move quickly and dynamically to jump in and assist with media operations and ensure alignment to stated plans.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS:

  • Work in the office, side by side, with various media, operations, and client service teams to facilitate smooth tracking and flow of plans in accordance with internal processes.
  • Detail oriented and methodical tracking of media spends. Work through planning documents, spend tracking documents, reporting and billing documents to confirm alignment across all activity.
  • Liaison with the client services & accounting team for billing needs.
  • Vendor MCA facilitation/organization. Work with vendors to secure and confirm all contract and associated documentation.
  • Vendor invoice review/payment. Work with accounting team to confirm alignment and payments against invoices.
  • Review reporting within platforms (Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, etc) as well as use of Defero’s tool such as TapClicks (reporting), Google sheets that support internal processes, etc.
  • Assist in partner discovery and vetting. Work with the media team’s strategy and management to assist in finding and vetting opportunities from outside partners.
  • Practices critical thinking and reasoning skills. Examines the details while not losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Digests, retains and shares the latest industry news and applies it to client projects as applicable.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or 2+ years of digital agency experience in relevant responsibilities.
  • Past agency experience required.
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of paid digital media.
  • Attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple clients, projects and tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess a natural curiosity about digital media – early adopters wanted.
  • Both an overarching strategic and tactical implementer, both are key to this role.
